The
Hanalei Bay Resort - $$$$
- ★ ★
★ ★
★
The Hanalei Bay Resort was originally
condos, calls itself a resort, but fits the definition
of hotel. The Hanalei Bay Resort overlooks some
of the best views in all of Kauai, so it may be
a good idea to rent a room second floor or higher.
Mountain view rooms are just as spectacular as ocean
view here. The resort is a good value for traveling
families or vacationers who have an extended stay.
Be prepared for rain on northern Kauai.

The Hanalei
Bay Resort is known for its proximity to Bali Hai,
and has a restaurant of that same name. We have available
75 of the 134 total units, and there are great activities
nearby. There are 45 holes of golf close by, on premise
tennis, and water sports of every variety. Of special
note is the snorkeling, which is rated as excellent right
off the beach.
|
 |
The Hanalei
Bay Resort offers what many accommodations charge
a premium for... space. Having started its life as a condominium,
the Hanalei Bay Resort was designed with living in mind.
You will feel
right at home because the Hanalei Bay Resort at one time
was a home. The rooms are clean, and come nicely
decorated.
|
|
The units started as either one bedroom units with
a kitchenette (570 square feet) or as one bedroom units
with a full kitchen (1091 square feet). Doors
between units or even removed walls have created two and
three bedroom suites. Square footage of these units will
vary with the design.
There is
a fully equipped kitchen, and some units have over-under
washers and dryers. In addition to having your own kitchen,
the Hanalei Bay Resort offers exclusive complimentary
daily made-to-order breakfast and complimentary afternoon
cocktails.
|
|
There are two
waterfalls on the grounds, and this adds the sound of
falling water to your experience. You can hear them almost
everywhere you are on the property.
There are also
two swimming pools, one with a waterfall, one more traditional.
There are eight tennis courts, and if you play too long,
massages are available for 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
|
 |
Hanalei
Bay Resort is one of the best landscaped resorts of
its kind. It sits on a hillside on 22 acres, and overlooks
both its namesake, Hanalei Bay, and the mountain behind
it, Bali Hai.
Bali Hai has
been the site of numerous Hollywood movies, and the area
is known as a vacation spot for Hawaiian royalty.
Hanalei Bay
is known for its calm waters and good snorkeling.
The beach is
accessible by a path, and is white sand with a reef offshore.
If you do not feel like walking, there is a complimentary
shuttle service.
Water equipment
such as boogie boards and snorkeling equipment are available,
so you do not have to lug those from home.
|
 |
Golf at
Hanalei Bay Resort is available at the nearby Makai
and Prince courses, and tee times can be set with the
concierge.
The Makai Golf
Course has been on Golf Digest's list of the best Golf
Courses in America for 17 years. There are three nine
hole courses, the Lakes, the Ocean and the Woods.
The Prince
Golf course was also designed by Robert Trent
|
|
Jones, Jr.
who thought of this course as his master work. It is rated
as the best golf course on Kauai, and was rated by Golf
Digest as the 43rd best in the nation.
Your day on
the links will be among the best you ever experience.
